As we head into the Twilight Seasons we shift our focus towards hotel hygge (hoo-ga). A Danish lifestyle concept, hygge encapsulates the feeling of comfort and cosiness – if you’ve ever enjoyed reading a book indoors on a rainy Sunday, or a cup of hot cocoa on a snow day, then you’ve already experienced “hygge” without even knowing it. The English language doesn’t have a single word for this, and we don’t have a single approach… but we find that the warming oils of a soothing massage, the comforting indulgence of a candlelit dinner, the humbling magic of gazing at the stars, or the feel-good of a heartwarming movie are pleasures that can lift the soul.
