Our hotel has a grand history of entertaining. Waiters in their long tailed morning suits and the chefs in their hats of varying heights according to their status were all the rage in the hotel back in the day. These days there’s no stiff upper lip, and we offer the kind of heart-warming hospitality that is often sought, but rarely found.

Our enchanting Victorian hotel can be home to your private dining event – whether it be a shoot party, society dinner or milestone celebration. We can host private dining parties for just a handful of guests, or for up to 80. For intimate dining with less than 14 guests, there’s our Courtyard Suites; or, for larger gatherings, there’s The Courtyard or even The Ballroom. Wherever you choose, you will be well fed, well wined, and very well looked after.

We strive for seamless excellence and have been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for dining.

Courtyard Suites

Sparkling suites

We have 2 of these suites, side by side. Both feature bi-fold doors leading to the light-filled hotel atrium which has its own private entrance. With opulent décor, they're great for intimate family gatherings, business dinners and small celebrations.

You are welcome to dress your suite as you choose, and a selection of candelabras are available for your use. You can opt to use your separate entrance for your guests, or we can guide them from reception.

Oooh the view...

The Lundy View Suite will comfortably accommodate up to 60 guests, making it an ideal mid-sized function space. As the name suggests, this suite also features a wonderful, picture postcard view of Lundy Island in the distance.

Unabashedly grand

The Ballroom has beautifully glasses archways, sparkling chandeliers and Victorian high ceilings - as well as its own private bar and a sprung dancefloor. Featuring ample space, it is situated at the front of the hotel and enjoys fine views of the North Devon Coast. Perfect for dining parties for between 60 and 80 guests, this is an excellent large private hire suite to give any gathering a sense of occasion.

Food is one of our greatest passions here at Woolacombe Bay. Our menus change regularly, depending on what’s good, fresh, and available locally. We are very flexible, and you can choose to dine on our seasonal menus, or you may also have some tasty ideas of your own. In which case, our team of talented chefs can work with you to create a bespoke private dining menu.
