THE LOWDOWN

an update from your SALT family

28th November 2020

With a heavy heart, we will find it impossible to reopen SALT Gymnasia at this time. Although the government have allowed gyms to remain open, the Tier 2 which we find ourselves in "does not allow physical activity & exercise classes for anyone who does not live together or share a support bubble" - the only exceptions to indoor training is for those with a disability, for educational purposes for under 18s or for elite athletes. If we had remained in Tier One, we would have been able to resume with our 'Rule of 6', which we adapted to when we opened our doors in July.

There may be gyms in our local area who will bend this rule. However, in view of the fact that prior to lockdown a nearby gym had an outbreak of COVID with 9 people, including instructors, testing positive and several becoming very unwell, we have to ask ourselves under the current situation that we, our amazing SALT family, find ourselves in to think twice about training indoors. We all have loved ones which we need to protect during these challenging winter months. Let's be hopeful that our region makes progress and will soon return to Tier 1 and looking forward to meeting up again soon.

Thank you...

We would like to personally take this opportunity, on behalf of our SALT TEAM, in thanking you for your support. We cannot wait to fling open the doors, turn on the lights, press play on the music and start training the way we love to do together very soon!

Take care & stay safe.
