Gold Coast Oceanfest 15 - 17 June 2012 Croyde
Every year on the Solstice Weekend in June a unique format of lifestyle sports takes place in an event where the top international freesports professionals enjoy a chilled ambience amongst the fiercest competition, against the backdrop of the North Devons' Gold Coast.By attracting world class athletes, there is hot competition including:

There is also a trade village incorporating licensed bars and international cuisine, an adrenalin zone, demos, exhibitions, sampling booths, simulators and hospitality suites.
Mini Grand Tour 27 August 2012
The Grand Tour brings the locals out in their thousands into the streets to watch the Minis go by. It takes about 15/20 minutes for all the Mini's to clear an area, one after the other. The event takes in some fantastic countryside and has some breathtaking stopping points. The final resting place is Ilfracombe and what a sight to behold, not to be missed.
North Devon Festival 1 - 30 June 2012
North Devon Festival is rapidly establishing itself as one of the key festivals in the UK. It is a celebration of the rich and diverse cultural life in North Devon, with a wide range of activities that reflect the character of the region.
The festival is probably unique in the UK as it includes not only top quality arts and entertainment, but also many events associated with the people and the place, those things which residents and visitors love about the natural beauty of the area. They include heritage, community, lifestyle, sports and horticultural activities.
Every year there has been a great leap in the quality, the number of events, the number of local communities and the range of organisations involved in the project.
“...enthusiastic communities and national events... ”Hunting of the Earl of Rone, Combe Martin 25 - 28 May 2012
Combe Martin holds the ‘Hunting of the Earl of Rone’, a re-enactment of an ancient legend. People in costume form a parade led by a Hobby Horse to hunt out the Earl, who rides backwards on a donkey.
Villagers start hunting the Earl on Friday evening then daily until Monday when he is captured in Lady's Wood at the top of the village. He is then escorted down to the seaside and thrown into the sea.
Ilfracombe Carnival Parade 2012

This spectacular event raises monies for local charities and is a fun night for all the family. The judging will take place at 18:30 & the Procession will start at 19:30 from the Swimming Pool C.P, through the High Street & then down towards the Harbour & Broad Street.
North Devon Show 2012

at Umberleigh Barton Farm on the A377 at Umberleigh EX37 9DX.This is North Devon's premier Agricultural spectacle. The annual event is a celebration of North Devon's agricultural roots.
A host of livestock classes occupy the arenas throughout the day with Alpacas, Cattle, Horses, Sheep, Show Jumping and Open Dog Show.
Attractions, displays, demonstrations and trade stands for all.
The show site is a completely level area of approximately 50 acres with an adjacent car parking area of 42 acres with good access on to the A377.Combe Martin Carnival Week 2012

The week starts with the crowning of the carnival queen and includes the huge main parade, wheelbarrow race, raft race, live music and events for all ages. The main parade is always an evening of excitement and fun, attracting thousands of onlookers and featuring a long procession of colourful and imaginative floats, varing in size, theme and history, are what make the Combe Martin Carnival stand out from others.
These include many from local businesses and villagers and some, like the 'Uncle Tom Cobley', which have been entered into the parade since 1911. The parade starts at the top of the village for judging and finishes at the seaside where the party begins. There will be an eclectic mix of events to entertain all age groups from gig racing, whale watching, kayaking, flower festivals, rock pool rambles, street entertainers, headline acts, strolling players, choirs, Punch & Judy, guided walks, magicians and so much more.All of this is underpinned by a celebration of locally sourced food and produce to be sampled through several guided historical food trails using a number of diverse eateries and restaurants.
