 The Woolacombe Bay Hotel Facts

The Woolacombe Bay Hotel has 63 bedrooms and 5 luxury suites, all different and all with their own dimensions and character.

All rooms are en-suite and have television, telephone, wi-fi access, tea and coffee making facilities, safe, ironing facility, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries.  Hotel guests have complimentary use of the Health Club.

Room Types 

Non Sea View Rooms - most overlook the village of Woolacombe or the surrounding National Trust hills.

Sea View Rooms - offer breathtaking views across the Bay

Sea View/Balcony Rooms - offer the same breathtaking views but with the added feature of a balcony to enjoy the sunrise and sunset.

Superior Rooms - have the benefit of being situated in the prime location within the Hotel, daily linen change (on request), complimentary newspaper and breakfast in bed service, beach towels, luxury bathrobes and toiletries.  Some of our Superior rooms also have the extra benefits of a balcony, sea view or four poster bed  

Luxury Suites - Our new Luxury Suites offer the ultimate holiday experience comprising  two bedrooms, either one large bathroom or two separate bathrooms and mini fridge. Most suites also have a lounge. 

Room layouts 

Double rooms -  Consisting of one double bed and bathroom - Many will take a cot

Twin rooms - Consisting of twin beds and bathroom - Many will take a cot 

Family rooms - Consisting of one double bed and either one or two single beds or bunk beds, many also taking a cot.

Communicating rooms - Two or three rooms within one - ideal for the family.  Shared bathroom.  Consisting of one double bed with communicating room for children (single beds and bunk beds). Some communicating rooms will sleep up to five people with some sleeping four.  Many will also take a cot. 

We offer virtually all room types in all room layouts 

Reservations and Cancellations

As we are a Victorian Hotel not all rooms are accessible by the lift - please advise us prior to your arrival of any walking difficulties or special requirements.

We accept most credit/debit cards except American Express and Diners.  We accept cheques for booking fees but regret we cannot accept cheques as payment for final account.

We have a non smoking policy within the Hotel.

In the event of cancellation, booking fees are non-refundable.  Whilst we will endeavour to re-let your accommodation, should this not be possible two thirds of the cost of the accommodation will be charged.  In the event that you decide, whilst staying with us, to leave before your confirmed date of departure there can be no refund for days or meals not taken.  

In the event of cancellation for self catering accommodation, booking fees are non-refundable.  Whilst we will endeavour to re-let your accommodation, should this not be possible, full payment will be retained.  In the event that you decide, whilst staying with us, to leave before your confirmed date of departure there can be no refund for days not taken.

Rooms are available from 4.00pm on the day of arrival and check-out is by 11.00am on the day of departure.  If you would like to arrive before 4.00pm or depart after 11.00am, you are welcome to leave your luggage in reception and use the hotel facilities.  Late checkouts can be arranged subject to availability  for a charge.  Self catering accommodation is available from 3.00pm on the day of arrival and check-out is by 9.00am on the day of departure.

Porterage is available on request to assist with luggage when checking in and out.

Parking

We have a private car park with designated disabled car spaces.  The car park is free to our Hotel guests and for the comfort and convenience of our guests we operate clamping for unauthorised vehicles.  Please ensure that permits provided on arrival are clearly shown on your car whilst staying with us.   We regret we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage caused to vehicles or their contents whilst parked.

Reception

Reception is open 24 hours

Charge Cards

You will be given a charge card on arrival at the Hotel.  Please keep this with you, as you will need it to charge items to your account.

Children's Club/ Creche  & Information

During the summer holidays we provide an exciting activity programme for 5-14 year olds   A creche is available for children under 5.

The creche is open Monday - Friday 9.30am - 10.30am and 10.40am - 11.40am and Saturday 10am - 11am and 11am - 12 noon for children 0 - 5 years old.

Booking is advisable and can be arranged with our creche staff during opening hours.

Please remember to pack some  play clothes as your children may get messy during some of the activities and please advise our staff of any allergies or medical conditions.

You may wish to bring a drinks cup, wipes, nappies and (if toilet training) some spare clothes.  Also your child's comforter if required.   

The creche is free for children staying with us in the Hotel.  For our self catering guests there is a small charge of £2.50 per child per session.  

Private babysitting may be arranged with reception or by calling reservations prior to your stay on 01271-870388.  The charge for babysitting is £7.00 per hour until midnight and £10.00 per hour after midnight.

Baby listening may be set on your room telephone to enable you to listen in to your child from any telephone within the Hotel.  Reception will assist. 

Children's Supper (suitable for under 14's) is served in Doyle's Restaurant between 5.00pm and 5.30pm and meals for babies can be pureed on request.

Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted to use any of the sporting facilities or hire any sports equipment without the supervision of a parent or guardian or designated adult member of the family.

Electrical Appliances

A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided.  Most bedrooms have shaver sockets in the bathroom.  Reception can supply adaptors for guests requiring them.

Laundry Service

A laundry service is available to our hotel guests with prices from £1.40 to £8.85 for adult clothing.  Children's clothing is half the adult price.  An ironing service is also available at a charge of £3.00 per item.   A dry cleaning service is also available.

Newspapers may be ordered at Reception when checking in

Night Porter

On duty from 11.00pm - 7.00am.  Available for room service and overnight assistance.

Safe Deposits and Valuables

A safe deposit box is provided in all our rooms and the key is available from reception.  The management regrets that no responsibility can be taken for the loss or damage of any item.
 

Shoe Polishing

Shoes placed outside your bedroom door during the evening will be polished overnight.

Doyle's Restaurant

Breakfast is served between 7.45am - 9.45am.       

We offer an early breakfast (Continental only) from 7.00 am which the Restaurant Manager can arrange for guests.

Breakfast is an informal occasion served buffet style, continental and a selection of traditional English breakfast favourites.

Dinner is served between 7.00pm with last orders at  9.00pm.  Cold platters may be provided if you are arriving too late for dinner (prior notice required please).

Dinner reservations should be arranged with the Restaurant Manager at breakfast, or at Reception.

Dress Code - Doyle's Restaurant has been beautifully designed with your comfort and pleasure foremost in our mind.  We therefore ask you to compliment this in your dress and request that gentlemen wear trousers and a collared shirt and ladies, smart evening attire.  No jeans, trainers, polo shirts or t shirts are permitted.  The dress code also applies to children taking dinner.

Should you wish your children to sit with you at dinner, please dine at the earliest sitting at 7.00pm.

Children dining with adults may dine at any time at a charge of £30.00 per child.

Should you have any special dietary requirements please advise us in advance and our Head Chef will be happy to discuss  this with you.

We provide an excellent range of fine wines but if you prefer to bring a 'special' bottle with you please note a corkage charge of £6.00 per bottle of wine and £10.00 for sparkling wine or Champagne will be made. 

24 Hour Room Service

We offer a varied selection of sandwiches, hot and cold drinks and alcoholic beverages from our room service menu, with a service charge of £3.50 per person.  (£12.00 per person Table d'hote menu served in your room).

Maxine's Bar

Maxine's Bar is open to residents daily from 6pm. 

Children over the age of 14 are welcome if accompanied by an adult.  Children under 14 are welcome in the drawing room or ballroom balcony if accompanied by an adult.

We regret we cannot serve alcohol to guests under 21 unless ID is produced.

The Bay Brasserie

Open 7 days a week

During the high season and Bank Holidays we open every evening.

Lunch served 12 noon - 2.30pm.

Afternoon Tea served 2.30pm - 5.00pm

Dinner served 6.00pm - late

Reservations are advised for parties of 6 or more.

*There are swimming restrictions at some times when lessons are taking place.  Adult only swimming time between 5pm - 6pm    

Hotel guests may hire towels and robes for swimming from The Hothouse.  £5.00 refundable deposit is required per towel and per robe.  Club members'  towel and robe hire is charged at £2.00 each plus £5.00 refundable deposit each.

£5.00 refundable deposit is required for our tennis and squash court keys.

Locker keys may be obtained from The Hothouse with a £5.00 refundable deposit required.

£5.00 refundable deposit is required for equipment hire for table tennis, pool and table football at the main Hotel Reception.

£5.00 refundable deposit is required for the Snooker Room keys at the main Hotel Reception

The Haven Spa       

Open Monday - Friday 9am -8pm.  Weekends and Bank Holidays 10am - 6pm

Some important information

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment allowing you an opportunity to ask any questions regarding your treatment.  For new guests to The Haven Spa it allows us time to explain our facilities.  It is important to advise us of any relevant medical history along with any prescribed medication.  If you are pregnant it is essential we are aware as some treatments are not suitable.

Payment and cancellation - We accept all major credit cards (except Diners and Americal Express), cheque or cash.  Hotel and self catering guests may charge the treatments to their account. Please note that packages must be paid in full 7 days prior to treatments and all individual treatments must be paid for when you make your booking.  Any treatment cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will incur full payment.

The Woolacombe Bay Hotel Grounds

A sports equipment store is available for your surf boards, wet suits, bicycles etc.  Keys may be obtained from reception for a small deposit.  We regret we cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage to your property whilst stored.

We regret that dogs are not permitted anywhere in the Hotel or grounds with the exception of service dogs.
